TESTIMONY

Phil Dunn Youth Music Scholarship

I just wanted to say thank you for granting me the opportunity to win the

musical scholarship last year. I've done a lot with the money which benefited

me for the better. I've managed to buy my own professional clarinet from the

local music store and some necessities needed for it additionally will help me

sound even better. This money benefited me for the long run and is still

benefiting me even almost a year later!

Thank you so much for granting me the opportunity to be a winner!

Jamey Long

My name is Jonah Smith, and I am currently a freshman at Taylor University. As a previous recipient of the Forward Visions Music Scholarship, I wanted to share a brief update on what has been happening in my life since starting college.

I am majoring in Music Composition at Taylor, where I have had many opportunities to grow and regularly write music. As part of the program, I participate in several ensembles, including the Taylor University Chorale and the Taylor University Drumline. Both have been
incredible blessings to be a part of. The Chorale has been involved in many events, and I am especially looking forward to traveling to South Korea this summer. We will be there for about a week and a half, performing
concerts and sharing the gospel.

Another meaningful opportunity has been serving on a Taylor University chapel team. I helped form a group of musicians that leads worship for chapel services held every Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday. This has been a rewarding experience both musically and spiritually.
College life has truly been a blessing so far, and I am excited to see what God continues
to do in my life in the years ahead.

The Forward Visions Scholarship was a huge encouragement to me in my journey. Thank
you again for your support and investment in me!

Sincerely,
Jonah Smith
